What, Where and Why is Camp Massapoag

Map of Camp Massapoag

Camp Massapoag is located in Dunstable, Massachusetts on beautiful Massapoag Pond.  While walking the camp grounds, the smiles and laughter are contagious.  Campers enjoy many fun activities throughout the summer such as archery, boating, swimming lessons, arts & crafts, low ropes course, sports & games, a rock wall, and team building activities.  However, Massapoag is special because of the relationships strengthened between campers and staff, and the memories that result.  Campers leave Massapoag having strengthened their character. their self-confidence, and their desire to return next year!  Massapoag staff all pass extensive background checks and log more than 25 hours of training before camp begins.  Our priority is to keep your child safe and to make sure that your child creates lasting happy memories every day.  At YMCA Camp Massapoag we focus on youth development and maintain an environment in which all campers and staff are growing in spirit, mind and body. Come join us for a summer of new experiences, new friends, and lots of fun!

Leader-In-Training Program (Ages 14 & 15)

The YMCA Camp Massapoag LIT Program is a leadership development program for campers age 14 and 15 meant to build a culture of role modeling at camp that we hope stays with participants after they complete the program. LITs are trained and challenged throughout the summer in new leadership roles. Make no mistake about it, the LIT Program is not a good fit for everyone. LITs are expected to come to camp every day eager to learn, to be involved, and to make a positive impact on the campers, staff, and facilities of Camp Massapoag. Each week, LITs will participate in team building, group time, leadership labs, and of course time with the younger camper groups. Campers interested in the LIT program must fill out a 2017 camper registration form as well as an LIT application and will be part of a group interview. LITs must register for at least 5 weeks of the summer, one of which being the mandatory training week (dates available on the 2017 registration form).
