Healthy Kids Day will be May 7, 2011 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

As part of a nationwide effort to encourage kids to get moving the Greater Lowell Family YMCA will host YMCA Healthy Kids Day on May 7, 2011.  Healthy Kids Day is filled with fun, engaging and creative activities that foster healthy living and is part of the YMCA’s larger efforts to help more kids and families become physically active.

YMCA Healthy Kids Day will provide resources to help educate grown –ups about making healthy choices for their families everyday. All activities are free and open to all.

When's the last time you set a healthy example for your child?  The YMCA of Lowell says this weekend is the perfect time.

Saturday, May 7, 2011 we will  celebrate Healthy Kids Day.  It's the nation's largest health day dedicated to kids and families.  YMCAs nationwide take part in this annual event, and even though it's directed at kids, parents can participate as well in activities such as family games and nutrition.

When kids are healthy, they're making good decisions and it empowers them.  Being active gives them confidence that they can do it and they know they're healthy, they just feel good.
